Slidell Man Unveils “EDEN” Economic Vision: $20 an Hour for Everyone, No Taxes and a Society Built Around Family

SLIDELL, Louisiana — September 10, 2026 — James R. Dunne of Slidell is asking a question he believes governments, economists and religious leaders have largely avoided:

What would Earth look like if human life—not money—were the foundation of the economic system?

Dunne calls his proposed answer EDEN, a sweeping social and economic vision rooted in his interpretation of biblical prophecy and what he believes the ONE TRUE GOD intended for humanity.

At the center of the proposal is a radically simple economic standard: every person would receive $20 per hour for human labor, regardless of occupation. Dunne argues that people are not merely selling their skills when they work—they are giving away irreplaceable hours of their lives that could otherwise be spent with family.

Under his proposal, a 40-hour workweek would provide $800 in compensation, or $38,400 annually, without traditional income taxation.

Dunne also proposes eliminating taxes altogether and replacing the conventional profit-driven economic model with what he calls a nonprofit societal system. Businesses would operate for the benefit of society, with profits directed into an EDEN Fund to support infrastructure, housing, roads, schools and colleges.

Education would also be free, including trade schools and colleges, with students receiving the same $20-per-hour standard while participating in their education.

The proposal further envisions family farms, natural food production, a universal EDEN Dollar, and an economic system intended to operate across national borders.

Dunne acknowledges that EDEN raises difficult questions about ownership, government, money, business, production and human behavior. He says those questions are exactly why he wants to take the proposal into the public arena and defend it under direct questioning.

“This isn’t just about changing an economy,” Dunne says. “It’s about changing what we believe a human life is worth.”

Dunne is seeking interviews with television, radio, podcast and digital-media producers willing to challenge the EDEN proposal directly.
